Who should we interview next?
Every month, Northline Storyworks films one Northern Michigan story at no cost to the person or family. The community decides who: nominate someone whose story should be preserved, or add your vote to a person already suggested. New names appear only after the studio approves them, and anyone who is nominated may ask to be taken off the list.
No voting round is open right now.
The idea
How it works
Every round has a posted closing date, usually about four weeks after it opens.

Nominate
Tell us who should be on film and why. A longtime resident, a family business, a veteran, an artist, a volunteer, a local historian, or a community leader all qualify.

Studio review
Every new name needs studio approval before it appears on the public roster. That step keeps the list to real Northern Michigan stories. A nominated person may opt out at any time and we will remove their name.

Vote
Anyone can add their vote to a person already on the list until the round closes. One vote per phone number per nominee. Vote counts stay private while voting is open.

Watch
When the round closes, the studio contacts the selected person or family. If they are comfortable being filmed, we plan the interview with them and publish the finished story here. If they decline, the next nominee is invited.
Vote counts are kept private until the round closes. Votes are confirmed by phone number, nominations are reviewed by the studio before they appear, and a nominated person may opt out and be removed from the roster. Votes that do not hold up are removed. Nothing is announced until the selected person agrees to be filmed.
Were you nominated and would rather not appear? Contact the studio and we will take your name off this list. Opting out does not affect anyone else’s nomination.
